A three-decade classic takes over Denver in a renewed edition, with more than 300 arts & crafts exhibitors + food vendors! This event is 100% family-friendly.

The festival starts with the Cinco de Mayo Community Parade on Saturday from 11am to 12pm.

Three stages will liven up this fiesta from morning until evening, featuring a wide selection of genres such as mariachi, salsa, norteño, folklore, and other Latin rhythms. Other highlights are the taco-eating contest on Saturday, a lowrider car show on both days, and the famous Chihuahua race on Sunday!

Needless to say that there will be plenty of food options (and drinks) serving all the food we love: tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and favorites. But don’t dare to leave without trying the iconic dish of our city: GREEN CHILI.

Other family-friendly events in Denver that will offer Cinco de Mayo special activities are:

Cinco de Mayo with extra Green Chili

Colorado-style green chile is slowly simmered with fire roasted tomatoes, giving it a rich flavor that distinguishes it from other versions of green chile (we hear you New Mexico!). A dish that perfectly represents the state’s cultural heritage. Here are a few places around Denver where you can try it:

The Cherry Cricket

Try Chef Ronaldo's award-winning Denver-style pork green chile - R&C PORK GREEN CHILE.

La Loma

La Loma is a family-owned business that strives to maintain simply great food and provide world-class hospitality to its guests. Try their famous green chile served with rice, refried beans, and house-made flour tortillas - GRANDMA’S GREEN CHILE PLATE and a margarita.

Otra Vez Cantina

Offering a creative take on Mexican fare with South American influences and an expansive beverage program features over 200 tequilas and mezcals!

Try their OTRA VEZ GREEN CHILI Soup with hatch green chiles, pork, and cheddar cheese. Vegetarian options are available!

The dinners at D' Corazon Restaurant are busy and boisterous. The environment is facilitated by their strong and cheap margaritas, the two best things any margarita can ever aspire to be. If this wasn’t enough to convince you, their Burrito Plate smothered in green chile is everything you want for this Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco in the mountains

If you don’t feel like an all-out fiesta and just want some margaritas and delicious tacos surrounded by the mountains, head out to Boulder, only 30 miles from Denver’s Downtown. Many Boulder restaurants are running food and drink specials for Cinco de Mayo. A few places we recommend in Boulder are:

Efrain’s of Boulder Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Voted best Margarita and Green Chili of Boulder!

T/ACO urban taqueria Boulder's very own community burrito and margarita emporium.

Centro Mexican Restaurant Inspired Mexican food & fresh-squeezed cocktails in the heart of Boulder. Open for indoor and patio dining.
